What a weekend!

27th January, 2009 at 9:48 pm (Uncategorized)

The Indigo Mill DT all travelled to Derby for a weekend of kit and crafting heaven.

We’ve put together some brilliant kits for the coming months, as well as LOADS of ideas for our inspiration leaflets to go with them.

Thank you to my team, they worked long and hard (we were up till 2am Friday night and 3am Saturday night) and more importantly, we scrapped and crafted for hours!  No kids, no husbands, no (real) housework just stash, stash and tools, friends and lots of biscuits.

I’m sure we’ll have photos to share soon, can’t show you the top secret layouts we did, but here’s a couple of things I made when everyone had left me on Sunday afternoon, and the mojo was still flowing!

These were made using the We R Memory Keepers White Out ‘Nonsense’ range that I got just before Christmas from Capture the Magic (my all time favourite shop)  In fact, I’m now going to go and order some more of it!

First a little ‘bird-day’ card (hahaha, I crack myself up!) made using one of the glitter die-cuts

My first layout with the papers, I love this pic of Rosie and I at the last retreat…. just have to think up a caption to put on the speech bubbles (any suggestions?  clean please)

And my second, I think the majority of these papers will be used with piccies of my little angel!

nonsense-lo-1I’m so glad the mojo has returned…. was worrying that it couldnt’ work out how to use the Sat Nav!!!

Congratulations on the new site, it is fab.
The papers are so fantastic. I shall have to invest in some as I have so many ideas already for teaming them up with some rubber stamps to make cards.
Ohhh, to win the papers would be fantastic

And from the next post we have:

Bookatrix!

19th January, 2009 at 8:03 am (Uncategorized)

Rosie kindly gave me the last few bits of her beautiful ‘After Eight’ kit (which were so much considering how much she had made from it)

I wanted to show how you can take a cardmaking product like the bookatrix and use your scrapbooking products and make it look great.

I’ve layered all the gorgeous flowers and used the patterned papers as the book pages, diamantes and stickles to add some bling.dscf4547

Extended and doubled Blog Candy

18th January, 2009 at 3:10 pm (Uncategorized)

Unfortunately, my random generator (my 3 year old, it helps him to learn his numbers) isn’t home from nannies yet, so we haven’t drawn the blog candy.  So…..

I’m going to extend it and double it, we’ll have two sets of the papers to give away, and we’ll leave it open till Wednesday night to give everyone a chance to be in it to win it.

Just pop your comment on here, or the previous blog candy post and we’ll choose a winner on Wednesday night after tea.

Don’t forget to tell your famil and friends to come along and have a go – if they win, they might be so appreciative that they let you have a stroke of the papers.  If you win, you can say ‘ha!’

Jillibean Soup

17th January, 2009 at 4:12 pm (Uncategorized)

Thought we would give you some information on Jillibean Soup and their collections…

This is what Jill has to say on her about pages:

So why do you scrap?  I’ve asked myself this question several times and my only explanation is that I love it. I’m completely obsessed. Not only is it a creative outlet but it gives me great joy when I’m crafting. Also, I get to buy some oh-so very cute, yummy, scrumptious papers and embellishments. Yes, I’m a collector of scrapbook stuff. Plain and simple, I have way too much and keep buying more. Like you, I LOVE this hobby. I’ve never had so much passion for anything in my life – with the exception of my family.

After numerous discussions with my hubby, lots of research and lots of prayer, I decided I had the guts and gusto to try out my own line of scrapbooking materials. With the recent return of kraft paper into the craft industry I decided that my first line would be designed and printed on kraft paper and I love it. It’s different, it’s fun, and it can be used for all types of paper crafting! It was difficult to find kraft paper that is acid free and lignin free in a folio size, so we custom manufactured our kraft paper – it’s one of a kind and it’s made from 100% recycled stock.

So why “Jillibean Soup”? “Jillibean” was a nickname that a childhood neighbor called me. “Soup” just sounded good with Jillibean. It has allowed me to do some creative naming of products, packaging, and original marketing.

Jillibean Soup products are manufactured with close attention to color, detail and design. Jillibean Soup offers you fresh, innovative products of the best quality. We pride ourselves in finding the best ingredients and creating fun designs you can use forever. We hope you love them as much as we do!

Jill Yegerlehner, founder and owner of Jillibean Soup

When we first spotted JBS papers, we absolutely fell in love with the first of Jill’s ‘white paper’ collections.  Previously Jill has focussed on Kraft ranges, something which I haven’t seen to be that big over here in the UK.  I did order a couple of packs of the Kraft papers, once that would go with anything and be ideal for journalling spots, as I wasn’t 100% sure about it.  However, I have to say, it isn’t what I imagined Kraft to be.  It’s smooth, very well printed, and looks amazing whether used for a small journal spot, or on the whole page (as you can see with Carla’s designs in the Kit Gallery
Jill is now taking her collections to CHA Anaheim next weekend, and we are sure that she will do very well.  We are patiently (!) waiting for the new ranges to go online, as they look to be just as scrummy as the Cream of Mushroom, if not more so as they are now double sided! so we can get them ordered, and let you all get your hands on them.

Make sure you check out Jill’s blog – there are loads of creations made with the JBS collections, plenty of inspiration, and a gorgeous piccie of Jill, her hubby and her beautiful three girls.

Have a look at the new ranges, and leave us your opinions.  Have a look at the Kraft ranges, and let us know what you like.
